Our Story Is Steeped in Fire & Patience

Ember & Oak was born in a small shed in Perth's foothills — a single drum roaster, a bag of Ethiopian green beans, and a stubborn belief that great coffee starts long before the pour.

Coffee roasting process at Ember & Oak

From Backyard to Benchmark

What began as weekend experiments over a hand-built roaster quickly grew into something deeper. Friends told friends. A local café took a chance on us. Within a year, Ember & Oak outgrew the shed and found a permanent home in a converted warehouse in Fremantle.

Today, we source directly from growers in Ethiopia, Colombia, and Honduras — relationships built on trust, not transactions. Every bean we roast carries the weight of those connections, and the quiet pride of doing things properly.

What We Stand For

🔥 Small-Batch Roasting

We roast in 10kg batches, profiling every origin individually. No shortcuts, no automation — just attention and instinct.

🌿 Ethical Sourcing

Every green bean is purchased above Fair Trade minimums. We visit farms annually to ensure quality and fairness go hand in hand.

🫶 Community First

From our barista training workshops to local charity collaborations, Ember & Oak exists to give back to the Perth community that built us.

The People Behind the Roast

A small team united by an obsession with exceptional coffee and the belief that warmth is an ingredient, too.
